3. Now, I’m going to show you some funky food information and show you what sorts of food you’re really eating.
I’m not going to show you any of the below information. Don’t freak out.
Listed under the two term sort of food items are foods, where, in the past year, your LDL was greater than 5 mg/dL (the LDL is your cholesterol). The math works out to this: you’re eating around 5 to 7 teaspoons of salt every single day. If you’re a serious over-salter, that’s not a ton. But keep in mind, your everyday condiments like mayonnaise, ketchup, ranch dressing, etc. (like I do) contain way more salt than just those listed on the list above.
Other examples: Frito-Lay Chip dips are very salty. Caesar dressing is more salty than ketchup (or ketchup, for that matter). Taco shells (about 8 or 9 grams of sodium) are more salty than ketchup or mayo.
