Redilight
Redilight tossed her hair and sighed.
"I'm still worried about Dark Shadow, though.
She was evasive about her former employer's plans.
I don't know if she was lying, or if she just doesn't understand how difficult it's going to be."
"A good question," Bluepaw said, returning the cat's nod.
"You know we're not going to win this fight, right?"
Redilight asked.
She patted her sister's shoulder.
"No, no we're not.
But we have to try, don't we?
The wild cats can't just sit back and wait for a storm to come and obliterate them.
We can't fight the whole Council.
But we're not going to win, either."
For the past month, Bluepaw had been training with Stonefur.
She had quickly learned how hard - working and friendly he was - and how much of a warrior he was.
He didn't seem too happy to be training with a newly - joined apprentice, but as soon as she got to know him, she understood why.
"It's because she needs some time.
She needs some practice working with a pack.
And they're going to need to learn how to live and fight together, to get used to the way she is.
And I don't want her as far away as possible - not right away."
Stonefur sighed.
"I wish you'd stop.
They'll need you as soon as they get out there, and they won't be too put off by you being new.
